Human Factors in Pre-Hospital Care

Designed and delivered in conjunction with one of the World leaders in Human Factors (HBP Training). This one-day theory/practical course is designed for Front Line Pre-Hospital Care Providers at all levels. The course looks at how Human Factors (HF) affect your working environment and how we can use systems and processes to counteract the negative influences of this and improve clinical outcomes at day to day complex cases such as resuscitation and multi system trauma.

Emergency Care Assistant

The Emergency Care Education Centre are pleased to announce its new course offering.  Staged over five weeks at our Bury Lancashire training centre, the course includes two weeks of intense clinical training with our Paramedic-led faculty followed by the Level Three qualification in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving.

First Response Emergency Care Level 3

Duration: 5 Days

 

Accreditation: This regulated and nationally recognised prehospital care qualification is clinically endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care- The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfils the competencies set out in the Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level D.

 

Intended Audience:  The QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (QCF)qualification is specifically designed for those seeking a career in the emergency services, ambulance services, the event medical sector or those who work in high risk workplaces.

 

Course Overview: Successful Learners will gain the knowledge, skills and competences needed to deal with a wide range of prehospital care emergencies, such as: managing a patient’s airways, catastrophic bleeding, management of fractures, medical emergencies and more.

First Response Level 4

Duration: 5 days

Accreditation: This regulated and nationally recognised prehospital care qualification fulfils the competencies set out in Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level E, and is the perfect next step for those who have completed the QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (QCF) or equivalent.

 

Intended Audience:  The QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (QCF)qualification is specifically designed for those who want to provide prehospital care to patients requiring emergency treatment. It is ideal for those who are looking to progress their career in the emergency services, ambulance services, event medical sectors and high risk workplaces.

 

Course Overview:  Successful Learners will gain the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to be able to deal with a wide range of prehospital care emergencies, such as: major incidents, fracture immobilisation, sick and injured children, mental health problems and more.

QA Level 5 Diploma in First Response Emergency and Urgent Care (RQF)

Accreditation:  This regulated and nationally recognised qualification is designed to provide Learners with a comprehensive knowledge of pre-hospital care in order to deal with a range of emergency and urgent situations.

 

 

Intended Audience

The QA Level 5 Diploma in First Response Emergency and Urgent Care (RQF) is intended for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide prehospital care to patients requiring emergency care at an incident.

 

 

Course Overview: This qualification is suitable for those who are working within the ambulance (private or NHS) and event medical sectors in roles such as: Ambulance Technician, Medical Technician and Clinicians working within high risk workplaces. The qualification may also be suited to Learners who wish to progress onto a paramedic education pathway.

Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support

Accreditation: This course is accredited through the NAEMT and is run in conjunction with the Pre-Hospital Care Consultancy.

 

Intended Audience: Paramedics, Technicians, Doctors and Nurses involved in regular pre-Hospital Care.

 

Course Overview: NAEMT’s Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) is recognised around the world as the leading continuing education program for prehospital emergency trauma care. The mission of PHTLS is to promote excellence in trauma patient management by all providers involved in the delivery of prehospital care through global education.

 

PHTLS is developed by NAEMT in co-operation with the American College of Surgeons’ Committee on Trauma. The Committee provides the medical direction and content oversight for the PHTLS program.

 

The course is held at our Skills Lab at the Ricoh Arena Coventry, providing the most realistic scenario based training facilities available.

Immediate Life Support for Dental Staff

Duration: 1 day

 

Intended Audience:  This one day course is aimed at Dentists and Registered Dental Nurses who provide conscious sedation within their practice.  The training is linked to the Standards for Conscious Sedation in the Provision of Dental Care 2015.

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (QCF) Replacement for the Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid

Duration: 2 Days

Intended Audience:  This Ofqual regulated paediatric first aid course is ideal for those who work or intend to work in a childcare setting as it has been specifically designed to fulfil Ofsted’s first aid requirements for early years teachers, nursery workers and childminders (as defined within the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage 2014 and within the Child Care Register guide). It is also ideal for parents, nannies and au pairs who regularly look after children under the age of 8, or those who are working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education (Level 3).

Course Overview:  Over a 2 day period, students will learn with the vital skills needed to administer safe and effective treatment when dealing with potentially life-threatening paediatric emergencies. What’s more, this course now includes infant and child AED use following the Resuscitation Council (UK) 2015 Guidelines update.

Oxygen Therapy Training Course

Duration: 3 Hours

Intended Audience:  This comprehensive 3 hour Oxygen Therapy training course is designed for qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders to be able to administer oxygen safely and effectively.

Course Overview:  Our Paramedic instructors have years of experience in advanced life support and their expertise enables them to make this type of training relevant, ensuring that the students have the skills and knowledge to deal with this type of situation competently and effectively.

 

Are students assessed?

Students are continuously assessed throughout the course.

Oxygen Therapy certificates are valid for 3 years and we will send an automatic reminder to both the customer and the student three months prior to the expiry date of the certificate. Certificates can be renewed by attending a 3 hour Oxygen Therapy training course.

Elder Care Emergency Management

Duration: 3 Hours

Intended Audience:  This comprehensive course is designed for staff working in the Elder Care setting both in Care Homes and Nursing Homes.

This course meets the requirements for the Level 2 Emergency First Aid in the Workplace Award however is weighted in content towards Elder Care in all aspects
